Skin diseases are usually caused by microorganisms – bacteria, viruses and fungi. In these cases the treatment is certain and the therapy is based on antibiotics, antimycotics or smaller interventions.

Another type of skin diseases are an indicator of excessive immune response of the organism to various influences. We commonly encounter various types of eczemas and urticarias. Treating these diseases is complex, based on antihistamines and corticosteroids. Tests and analyses are always conducted to determine the existence of hot spots in organism that lead to the occurrence of skin manifestation of a certain disease.

Paraneoplastic diseases of the skin are skin diseases characteristic for the existence of carcinomas in certain organs.

A separate group of skin diseases are skin tumors. They can be benign or malignant and with timely intervention and adequate diagnosis a complete recovery is possible. Any postponement in visiting a dermatologist from the moment the change on the skin is noticed reduces to possibilities of a good prognosis and efficient treatment.

Also, diseases from other areas of medicine often produce skin manifestations. In this way, heart diseases can produce dotted bleedings in the skin. Autoimmune diseases start with intensive hair loss and changes on edges of the nail bearings. Kidney diseases manifest in and itch and dryness of the skin. When the hot spot is in the liver, an occurrence of “lichens” followed by extreme itch (Lichen planus) is common.
